Proper nutrition is vital for staying healthy. A balanced and varied diet is key to both your mental and physical well-being not just today, but for years to come. Your body needs the right combination of macronutrients (proteins, fats and carbohydrates) and micronutrients (more than 20 vitamins and minerals).
The body cannot build many of those nutrients by itself; they need to come from a well-balanced diet that includes a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a minimum of 5 daily servings of fruits and vegetables. However, research shows that 3 out of 4 adults worldwide do not meet this recommendation.*
Why daily? The body does not store all nutrients; to stay healthy, certain essential nutrients such as water-soluble vitamins and proteins need to be replenished every single day. It is important to always consider the level of nutrients in the food we consume each day. This, in turn, depends on the quality of the ingredients and on how they are grown, handled and prepared. Here, we do not always have full transparency and control.
There are multiple reasons why we may not get the right quantity or quality of nutrients that our bodies need. Busy schedules can prevent us from eating healthy and contribute to an increased consumption of processed foods, which are often high in sugar and fat. Religious dietary restrictions and cultural traditions can further influence food choices, making the right balance even harder to achieve.
Food supplementation can be a solution for bridging potential nutritional gaps. This way, you can take good care of yourself and your loved ones.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a minimum of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.* It is important to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables each day, because different plants contain different vitamins and minerals.
But did you know they also contain diverse secondary plant compounds - known as phytonutrients - that are also present in our body? Take lutein as an example; it can be found in the human retina and eye lens. The phytonutrient lycopene is present in our blood. Plants produce phytonutrients to actively protect themselves from environmental influences that cause cellular damage and diseases. So phytonutrients help the plant stay healthy. What’s good for plants is thought to be good for us too.
The phytonutrient profile differs from plant to plant, just as it does for vitamins and minerals. For a healthy diet, variety is key to getting all the nutrients the body needs. Because phytonutrients also give plants their distinctive vibrant colours, they can be used as visual indicators to help you create your personal mix of fresh fruits and vegetables. A healthy diet includes colourful phytonutrients. Be sure to select different colours.
Let’s provide our bodies with the right balance of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients!
The Nutrilite™ brand offers powerful plant-based food supplements rich in vitamins, minerals, as well as phytonutrients, to people who want to enjoy life to the fullest. We are dedicated to providing pure, safe and effective products you can trust.
Founded in 1934, the Nutrilite™ brand has built outstanding expertise in combining nature and science. Here, history and innovation go hand in hand. Our product formulations are backed by both solid science that we have developed and studied for decades, as well as the most recent scientific findings at the time of development. In both instances, understanding plants for their phytonutrient and nutrient composition is a vital component. We have conducted many years of botanical research, starting with the plant’s seed to selecting the plant species that will yield the highest content of the desired nutrient.
We grow plants on our own four Nutrilite™ farms which are located in North and South America. For plants that grow better in other climates, we work with carefully selected partner farms that adhere to our high-quality standards of sustainable farming. All botanicals we use are pure, nutrient-rich and grown without the use of harsh chemicals or pesticides.
We control the whole process from seed to supplement; so you can benefit from our high-quality food supplements whilst knowing they are pure, safe and effective.
The Nutrilite™ brand was founded as a small family business in California in 1934. It was created by Dr. Carl F. Rehnborg in pursuit of creating more effective food supplements that are derived from nature. In the early part of the 20th century, Dr. Rehnborg lived and worked in China, where he observed the benefits of a plant-based diet. People from the countryside who had abundant fresh fruits and vegetables appeared healthier than those who lived in cities and had poorer access to fresh products.
Nature and science at the core of the Nutrilite™ brand
Inspired by his observations, Dr. Rehnborg returned to the US with the vision that plant-based food supplements help people live healthier lives. He then began researching and identifying important plant compounds. A pioneer in the field of plant nutrients, Dr. Rehnborg understood that plant compounds are the key to healthy nutrition. He started developing a multi-vitamin, multi-mineral food supplement based on botanical extracts to include those important plant compounds. Today we know that he had discovered phytonutrients, the secondary plant compounds found in fruits and vegetables, which plants produce to actively protect themselves from environmental influences that cause cellular damage and diseases. Phytonutrients help plants stay healthy, promote their growth, and provide colour. What’s good for plants is thought to be good for us too.
Sustainable farming for nutrient-rich plants from day one
Dr. Rehnborg had a deep respect and understanding of nature and was always keen to learn more. For growing the botanicals for Nutrilite™ supplements, he insisted on using nature to control nature. Since day one, long before the word sustainability became a trend, he only used sustainable farming methods on his farms. His care didn’t end with plants but extended to people too. His philosophy: “Take care of the land. Take care of the people” is deeply rooted in our company’s DNA and lived every day. The safety and wellbeing of our employees and their families are of utmost importance to us. We want to foster a healthy social environment for our workers and the farming community.
Today Nutrilite™ is a #1 selling brand around the globe
The benefits of merging science with nature have been recognised and acknowledged by our consumers. Over the past decades, we have grown from a small family-owned business into a global brand, slowly extending to Latin America, Asia, Australia and Europe to become the world’s #1 selling vitamin and dietary supplement brand.*

WITH THE POWER OF 5 CAMPAIGN WE USE OUR NUTRITION EXPERTISE TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD MALNUTRITION.
Childhood malnutrition is prevalent but preventable
Children are most vulnerable to malnutrition. If they don’t receive essential nutrients, their opportunity for developing a healthy mind and body is lost. A child’s 5th birthday is an important milestone for their survival. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malnutrition is the underlying cause of death for 3.1 million children each year, accounting for nearly half of child deaths globally.
Ensuring more children reach their 5th birthday
Using our nutritional expertise, our scientists created Nutrilite™ Little Bits, a plant-based food supplement with 15 essential vitamins and minerals that young children need to grow. It is exclusively available to families who participate in the Power of 5 programs. We call it the Power of 5 because our goal is to help children reach their 5th birthday. This is an important milestone in human development and helping malnourished children achieve this goal will help them be more attentive in school, have more energy and become more productive adults.
Global alliance and distribution
We know we are just a small part of a bigger solution. We are partnering with Opportunity International – a global non-profit organization – to connect with like-minded humanitarian and government leaders in 25 institutions spread over 14 countries, to provide children from 6 months to 5 years of age with Nutrilite™ Little Bits. Just like our products deliver on their promises, so do our programs. To learn more the power of 5 campaign or to donate, visit powerof5.amwayglobal.com.
For our food supplements, we use pure, nutrient-rich plants from certified non-GMO seeds that are grown using sustainable farming principles without the use of harsh chemicals or pesticides.
We show you the steps we take to ensure that our food supplements are pure, safe and effective.
Premium quality starts with the seed of the plant and results in pure, safe and effective products. We invite you to trace the botanical of a product from the seed to the food supplement.
